Water changes weight, not food energy

Finished batch energy = starting energy + known added energy − known discarded energy. Calories per 100 g = finished batch energy ÷ finished edible weight × 100. Yield ratio = finished weight ÷ starting weight.

The default is a worked example of a 730 kcal batch gaining water from 200 g to 600 g. It does not claim every rice recipe has a 3× yield. Weigh your own finished batch. Fat rendered and discarded, drained sauce and edible food left in the pan can remove energy; water loss alone does not.
